This little gem offers you maximum privacy at a hard to find price. Located by a river in the rural town of Coronado, you are just a few minutes from the center of town where you will find restaurants, groceries, and most of the services you might need. However the setting is completely private on a 2800m2 quinta (3/4 acre lot) surrounded by farms.
This home is ideal if you want to be close to San Jose but live in a real Tico area. The surrounding farms are dairy farms, and some nicer country homes. Morning walks or jogs are enjoyable, with hilly terrain and stunning views, the area is also excellent for birdwatching. Also on the property is a larger home, so you would be able to travel and enjoy the peace of mind that someone is nearby. There is ample parking on the property, but if you don't want to have a car the bus stops 900 meters away.
ISDN Internet is on the property and you could work from home with this connection, it also works well with Skype. The cabin is semi furnished and is an ample 48m2 (close to 500 sq. ft.) If you work in Escazu or Santa Ana, this is not a good location for you, but downtown San Jose is doable for a commuter. The home is ideal for an artist or writer, retiree, or anyone who enjoys peace and quiet.
The house itself is two floors, a loft bedroom is on the top floor. Below is the open living/kitchen/dining area, a bathroom and the spacious deck. Total living area is 48 square meters, plus the 16 square meter deck. (about 500 sq. ft. plus 170 sq. ft. outside) The house is rented semi-furnished. (as shown in photos).
Coronado is only 12 kilometers from the National Theater(by Gran Hotel Costa Rica), so you have fairly close access to Mall San Pedro, University de Costa Rica (and the cultural advantages) and also everything in San Jose. You get country living with all the benefits of the city nearby. Definitely worth a look if you enjoy nature but don't want to live in isolation.
NEW ! Short term option. The rent is $250 per month on open ended lease (1 year is standard). If you are visiting for only a month or two you can still rent the place at $500 per month.
