Cabinas la Tranquilidad is located about 5 miles from Parrita on the small island of Palo Seco, accessed by a short bridge. The island is about 9 km long and 400 meters wide. There are mostly beach houses and private residences of local Costa Rican families on the island. There are also two large hotels and three restaurants/bars which service the local people and beach visitors.
Cabinas la Tranquilidad is oceanfront on a huge wide sandy beach at the front, and on the wide estuary at the back with an awesome view of the mountains behind the water. The swimming pools are centered on the property. The recreational rancho has a billiard table, foosball table, and darts. The beach is wonderful for shelling, swimming, surfing, walking or fishing. Sunrises and sunsets over the ocean on this south-facing island are magnificent! This is a tranquil setting you will never forget!
For the adventurous there is much to see and do beyond the tranquility of the cabinas. Manual Antonio National Park is about 40 minutes south. Adjacent to the park is Quepos, an oceanfront city with nightlife, a small airport, and a hospital. Jaco, about 40 minutes north, is known for its nightlife and surfing beach. Sportfishing, mangrove tours, canopy tours, horse back riding, 4 wheeler tours, white water rafting, paramotoring, kayaking, and more are available nearby. Mountains and rain forests are waiting to be explored. Endangered giant sea turtles come ashore to lay their eggs every year at Palo Seco. The onsite property manager is there to help.
